MENSCHEN PARTNER TELEGRAM NEWS-TICKER Wilhelm Voss farewell In the presence of around 150 guests from home and abroad, Krone machinery production plant manager Wihelm Voss was officially honoured on his retiral. As small “thank you” for his exemplary commitment to the company, Dr Bernard Krone and Bernard Krone together presented Wilhelm Voss and wife Dawn with a holiday travel voucher. Chinese maize straw “Hen hao” (very good) describes the work quality of the Comprima F 155 XC machines baling maize straw in China. Under temperatures down to - 20° Celsius and extremely dry and dusty conditions, up to 20,000 bales per machine were produced in the Shenyang region from October through to the beginning of March. A high honour Wolfgang Deimel, diploma engineer and constructor at Krone has been honoured with the Max Eyth Memorial Medal. Wolfgang Deimel has worked at Spelle since 1986, devoting many years as group leader responsible for round baler model series, large square balers and self-loading wagons. Barcelona Marathon Enric Calzada Pociello, a colleague in the Krone team for export, lined up at the start of the legendary Barcelona Marathon with more than 20,000 other runners. After 42 km, which he mastered in 3:56 h, Enric joyfully crossed the finishing line waving the Krone flag. Visitor flood “There’s not much more room left” is how LVD Krone business manager Dorothee Renzelmann and Ludger Gude summed up the visitor situation at the Krone Messe 2017. Under beautiful spring weather conditions, more than 40,000 interested guests streamed into the Spelle event. New validation centre The decision is made, the dotted lines signed: Krone is to invest around 15 m Euro in a new validation centre at Lingen. In future, this location will be where technical safety measures for all Krone product developments are undertaken. Also carried out there will be country-specific homologation of vehicles and machinery. “National Jewel” The Family Businesses Foundation based in Munich has analysed over more than a decade the economic influences of the German family business. In one investigation, Krone was honoured as a “National Jewel” in this context. Fortima bales cotton straw Round baling of very woody cotton plant straw – an extreme job in Turkey, managed only by the Krone Fortima. The result: a contract order for two dozen Fortima F 1600 MCs. Emsland Scholarship It is now the third time that the Emsland Trade Association e.V. has honoured talented students from Osnabrück University (Campus Lingen) with Emsland Scholarship awards. Winners of the Krone Scholarship 2017 are Ilias Najah, Thomas Mika, Alexander Grünloh and Christina Ober. KRONE OptiTour Within the OptiTour event, Krone pre- sentations included a variety of innovations in the Grimme-Technicom from the areas silage chopping, loader trailers and baling. In total, many more than 1,000 agricultural contractors used this opportunity to gain exclusive information about Krone developments. Motorised by Liebherr The BiG X model ranges 700 and 770 are to be equipped with Liebherr V8 engines. Liebherr has proven competence in engine production with its products powering earth-moving machinery and used, for example, in mining as well as in agriculture and forestry. Brickmaker In the Krone training workshop, a special project has been successfully completed: a hand-operated brick making press for the African aid society BELU Ugandahilfe. The press was developed and constructed by Krone trainees and is to be used to help in house construction. 44 45
