MENSCHEN INSIGHT Winter

MENSCHEN INSIGHT Winter Work HIGH SEASON IN While work pauses out in the fields, production by Krone in Spelle runs at high speed. During our February tour through the factory, we were able to satisfy ourselves that Krone staff are really committed to getting the machinery ready for work and with the customers by season’s start. A peek behind the scenes: In the Spelle spare parts store approximat different items are available at any time. At work within Krone construction are some 200 engineers. All products – such as the Easycut maize header for forage harvesters in this picture – are continuously further developed. In the welding plant, three robots are busy welding mower cutterbar components. Total annual throughput: more than 10,000 units from 2 to 6 m wide. In winter, the large orders of the year are meaning continuous hard work in the store. 34

Waiting to be trucked away: On the “parking space” by SPELLE the production halls, a few thousand machines stand ready for dispatch. Per truck they then start their respective journeys to the dealerships. ely 55,000 One trip into the immersion paint plant: Everything assembled in the factory goes through the paint department first. It’s even whispered that every new employee has to take the same route … ;-) On the forage harvester production line at Spelle, around 450 machines from 480 up to 1,100 HP are assembled each year. processed, Those that find the waiting time for their new models too long can take home the machinery range in pocket format from the Krone Fan Shop after the factory tour. 35
