MENSCHEN PARTNERSHIP

MENSCHEN PARTNERSHIP Land & Technik MODELL: 2 PLUS 1 42

The three partners of Land & Technik round one table: From l: Florian and Hermann Kasbauer, Erwin Bögl, Alois and Arnold Moser. “May I tell you a little bit of our history?” asks Erwin Bögl. Please do, we say. That’s why we’ve driven into northeastern Austria: to learn more about the special cooperation between partners Kasbauer, Moser and Bögl. BUYING DIRECT FROM THE MANUFACTURER Erwin Bögl is managing director and partner within the specialist agricultural machinery company “Land & Technik”. He is the only salesman in the organization, to which two other partners belong: Hermann Kasbauer and Alois Moser, both with their respective workshops. How does this business arrangement work, and how did the cooperation come about? Erwin Bögl was, up until the end of the 1990s, staff salesman with a farm equipment wholesaler serving different workshop outlets in northeastern Austria. Just before the millennium, some of the workshop owners had the idea of separating from the wholesaler. The aim was to achieve more independence, especially for purchase and sales. One problem: none of the workshops could afford a salesman on its own. The luck in this situation was that Erwin Bögl had the urge for a job change. So in 1999 he and the workshop owners had the idea of together founding the enterprise Land & Technik. Since then, Erwin Bögl is managing partner of Land & Technik with both other partners now running two workshop locations as independent businesses. The Land & Technik sales department with Erwin Bögl as manager and three of a staff, is responsible for selling new and used machinery. Servicing, guarantee work and repairs are undertaken by either of the two associated workshops. The billing point for new machinery guarantee and goodwill claims lies with Land & Technik. Other repairs are billed for by the workshops on their own. Thereby, the workshops have the freedom to also repair machinery that has not been bought or sold by Erwin Bögl. Repairs with used machinery taken in part-exchange by Bögl are carried out by one of the workshops and Land & Technik gets the bill. The new machinery sold by Land & Technik comes straight from the respective manufacturers. ”For instance, since 1999 we have sold Krone machines and, starting in 2007, have become one of several Krone importers in Austria and responsible for the Schärding region. Additionally, we have the status of an A-dealership for Fendt and New Holland”, says Bögl. In 2015 he sold 40 tractors for both makes. He adds that while the tractor market is a workshop bringer, in the new machinery business it is not so exciting as forage machinery. Theoretically, Erwin Bögl could, for instance, sell balers from three different manufacturers. But he sells balers, as all other machines involved in the forage harvest, exclusively from Krone. “For us, this represents our bread-and-butter trade and I am convinced about the quality of the machinery from Spelle”, he explains. 43
